Following a 20 year immersion in the joys(!?) of systemic functional linguistics I am currently involved in developing a professional development award in digital learning and teaching for Scottish educators. The aim is to develop a flexible award which can be taken by any educator in any context, at any level and in any curriculum area. The award would be based on the notion of multimodal composition as a means of communicating and of developing knowledge in any domain.
