  Hisami Nakamura is interested in interdisciplinary literary studies combining literature, science and cultural history.  She has published on Irish authors W B Yeats and Oscar Wilde, and on cultural and scientific history of ice and snow, as well as on the ukiyo-e artist Hokusai's tsunami-like waves.  She is currently working on cultural and literary appreciation of gemstones as source of inspiration and symbol of divinity.
