Mr. Andriamanambina is an Information Management Specialist with ten years experience. From 1998-2003 Mr. Andriamanambina served as the information management specialist with a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Southeastern Madagascar where he worked primarily on the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Since then, he has completed a master's degree in Natural Resource Management at Cornell University focusing on the impacts of biodiversity conservation on rural livelihoods in Madagascar. His master's research used GIS to prioritize areas for biodiversity conservation and agricultural production in the Anosy Region of Southeastern Madagascar. Currently, Mr. Andriamanambina is working as a consultant with the Andrew Lees Trust in Fort Dauphin on the analysis of a survey on poverty alleviation. Mr. Andriamanambina's previous experiences using GIS to help conserve the dry forest of Southern Madagascar made significant contributions to the development of a conservation plan for the Fort-Dauphin Region. He is also engaged in developing proposals and projects facilitating regional development. Previous to working on environmental issues, Mr. Andriamanambina spent four years working as an information systems analyst with a rural development bank in Madagascar. Mr. Andriamanambina also has experience organizing trainings, workshops, and conferences as well as developing communication components of programs through posters and presentations, in both English and French, as well as his native Malagasy language.
