Helen is a lecturer at the University of Tasmania. She teaches academic reading and writing skills to new university students. One of her interests is policy and practice in aged care. This stems, in part, from her experiences in assisting family members accessing aged care services in regional Australia. Helen is passionate about social inclusion and understanding of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) members of society. Her background as a languages and English teacher, both in Australia and abroad, gives her a unique perspective on issues arising from language and cultural differences.
