Dr. Vatanparast is Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy & Nutrition, and the School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan. He has been involved in research on lifestyle and the risk of chronic diseases, food security and health equity. He is also involved in international research activities, mainly on the health status of immigrants and refugees and the indigenous population in collaboration with partners from different international organizations. Dr. Vatanparast has thought undergraduate course on food and culture and cultural competency, and special topic graduate courses on immigration health. He has also supervised undergraduate and graduate student projects on cultural competency and immigration health.
