  Giselle Ferreira is a Lecturer at the Department of Communication and Systems at The UK Open University's Faculty of Maths, Computing and Technology. She has a multidisciplinary background that includes studies in electronics engineering, music, systems theory and, more recently, education, and she has taught and researched into a number of themes at the intersections between these areas. Giselle’s current research revolves around the impact of Internet technologies on teaching and learning practices, with a special concern for Web-based tools, Open Educational Resources and Open Learning Environments. She also maintains an active interest in issues related to Open and Distance Learning in the subject areas of music technology and ethics in technology. Less
