Gillian Oakenfull, Ph.D. is a Professor of Marketing in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She earned her doctoral degree in marketing at the University of Houston and an MBA and BBA from Lamar University. She currently serves as the Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Department of Marketing.
Her research focuses on three areas of expertise (i) measuring brand meaning and brand management, (ii) sports marketing, and (iii) marketing to multicultural audiences. Her research on both topics has been published in top quality academic journals in both business and the social sciences. These include the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Psychology and Marketing, and Business and Society Review. Gillian is a native of Ireland and England and came to the United States to play NCAA Division I tennis and run track. She became a US citizen in 2006, is married with three sons, and enthusiastically coaches soccer, baseball, and tennis.
