  Dr. Raphael Ebanda is a socio-cultural research analyst. He completed his PhD study at the University of Nairobi where he gave lectures and tutorials as a Tutorial Fellow on Environmental Management. He developed an interface model of culture and environment. His research focuses on ethnography within the indigenous communities. His ability to articulate the relationship between ecoystem productivity and human well-being contributes to address the gap in the sustainability literature that lack attention to culture. Raphael's apporoach provides a critical jump from theory, through empowerment of indigenous knowledge, to culturally sustainable practices. Moreover, Raphael's work rigorously monitor the link between cultural determinants, community's attitudes and behavior, livelihood activities, and ecosystem and human well-being. Raphael was born in Cameroon where he acquired the practice of the English and French languages. His openess to other cultures has shaped his worldview and developed his sense of flexibility and rapid adaptation to multifaceted environments. Raphael's field of work, inter-disciplinary equity-based approached, and real world application generate high quality policy-relevant research on critical issues of sustainable development.
