  After teaching at UCLA for eleven years and running a Los Angeles-based management consulting practice, David began teaching K-12 courses and working with organizations to develop the model that has become known as Open-Source Learning. In 2011 he introduced “The Open Source School” at the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto, CA. Since then, David has presented Open-Source Learning concepts and use cases to audiences at the MacArthur Foundation Digital Media & Learning Conference, the M.I.T. Connected Learning Summit, The O’Reilly Open Source Conference, TEDxUCLA, and other gatherings. He has contributed chapters to The Open Organization Guide for Educators, The Handbook of Business Strategy, and The Peeragogy Handbook, and he is currently working on a book about Open-Source Learning.
