  Darcy J. Hostetter-Lewis began her career as a nurse in 2001, following her graduation from the bachelor of science in nursing program at California State University, Chico. She received her Master of Science in Nursing in Perinatal Education in 2009 from Saint Louis University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2015 from University of Hawaii, Manoa. She has worked as a nurse in the areas of labor and delivery, breast feeding education, diabetes education, and emergency medicine. She has also worked in hospital management as the Manager of Education and Training and as a Nursing Supervisor. Darcy began her teaching career at California State University, Chico in 2006 and has provided undergraduate nursing students with classroom and clinical education in the areas of medical-surgical nursing, obstetrical nursing, pediatric nursing, and nursing research. She has also traveled extensively throughout the United States presenting education on the care of women with gestational diabetes. She has been married for 29 years is the mother of four grown sons.
