I am a UNC-Chapel Hill-trained sociologist and prevention researcher with interests in prevention at different levels of analysis, including clinics, organizations and entire systems. At the clinic level, I have been studying and writing about how women seeking selective reduction as a pregnancy-management strategy adapt to the medical, emotional, ethical and financial and relational pressures they face, and how clinics can make the process less stressful for them. At the organizational level, I am involved in research regarding the use of medical-claim residuals to develop an index of workplace stress (forthcoming in The Open Public Health Journal). At the systems level, I was part of a team investigating the impact of the ANGELS program in Arkansas, a program providing telemedical counseling to patients in Arkansas.
