Daniel Arbucias is a PhD Candidate at the University of Delaware, studying International Relations. His dissertation focuses on how states may experience different resource curses contingent upon their resources. This theory hypothesizes that oil-rich states are more likely to experience international violence, have a stronger resource class, and higher nationalization rates than diamond rich states, which are more likely to suffer from civil violence, possess a weaker resource class, and not strongly nationalized industries.
