    I completed my doctoral work in English at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. My research focused on the racial dynamic of interactions between the Welsh and English in the long twelfth century. Drawing on literary texts and historical chronicles, I examined the identity politics undergirding the political history of early English imperialism.
