Dr. Claudette Thompson joined the School of Education at St. Bonaventure University in August 2007, as an Assistant Professor for Undergraduate Education. She currently teaches four courses: Methods and Management of Instruction, Methods and Models of Teaching Language Arts and Social Studies, Developmental Reading, and Basic Instructional Design.
Dr. Thompson completed doctoral studies in Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She also earned a Masters in Adult Education and Communications Technology from IUP. Dr. Thompson pursued undergraduate Studies in History with Social Sciences at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, Jamaica. She taught for ten years at Manning’s and Calabar High schools in western and eastern Jamaica.
To complement her teaching responsibility, Dr. Thompson writes academic articles. She has published an article Peer Tutoring in Technology What? or how? in Academic Exchange Quarterly and has presented at State and National conferences on the topics; Literature in Science instruction, the role of Multicultural Literacy in a Balanced Literacy program and Professional Development schools.
