Update 2: Blended Learning

According to Mindflash, Blended learning is a term increasingly used to describe the way e-learning is being combined with traditional classroom methods and independent study to create a new, hybrid teaching methodology. Blended learning has risen in popularity over the past couple of years and according to an article written by Paula McNamee, teachers need to find a good blend of online learning and in class learning. She states that when the students are working on the online materials that they need to be able to manage at a pace that learning is achieved. Both online and instructor-led training needs to be complementary and create an integrated learning environment. Teachthought.com says that blended learning is an important way to teach because it breaks down the traditional walls of teaching, ones that don’t work for all students and with access to present day technologies and resources we can tailor the learning experience for each student. Blended learning offers flexibility, access to global resources, more effective communications between learner and instructors.

All students learn differently and although my daughter struggled with the computer learning side of learning (she is also very young) this type of learning works best for me personally- it is the only way that I could continue my education as an adult.
