Chiara Galli is a PhD student at the Department of Sociology of the University of California Los Angeles, where she also obtained her MA in 2016. Her ethnographic research examines the migration of unaccompanied minors and families fleeing from criminal victimization in the Central American Northern Triangle and seeking asylum in the US with the help of immigration attorneys. Before UCLA, she obtained an MA in Migration and Development Studies at the University of Granada, Spain and worked as a consultant for the European Migration Network, where she did research on immigration and asylum policy in Italy and the EU.
