  I, Dr. Charalambos ("Charlie") Cleanthous, am a professor of Psychology. My education spans the influences of three continents: Europe, Africa, and North America. Such exposure has led to one of my concerns: Education, effective education, for all on the planet. Over the years, I have wondered how to remove myself from the front of the class and make “teaching” and learning as efficient as possible. B. F. Skinner’s work has been immensely influential in my thinking, especially as the technology he did not have is now available to us. Thus, my learning and “teaching” journey continue as I seek to incorporate empirically verifiable principles of learning and instruction into my endeavor to “teach.” A second, related concern is how to provide the most effective education for those living in misery in much of the world. The answer, in part, has to do with the promise of technology. Finally, human rights and the ethics of dealing with one another are at the core of my philosophical and political beliefs.
