I am Dr. Chiuchu (Melody) Chuang, an Assistant Professor teaching at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, USA. With a BBA degree in Taiwan, I switched my major to education and earned my doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in USA. Working with young children and teaching students at various levels are my passion and expertise. I have been teaching in various school systems in both America and Taiwan. I own teacher licenses in both Texas and North Carolina states. The courses I teach in UNCP are online courses in the Birth-Kindergarten Program. My research interests include, but not limited to, children’s play, technology in early childhood education, teacher education, cross-culture comparisons in students’ learning, and so forth. Utilizing computer and instructional technologies to support online/distance learning systems, I employ student-oriented instruction and learning, and encourage students to incorporate personal interests and previous knowledge in setting and reaching both personal and professional goals.
