Graduated from Edinburgh University in Ecological Sciences, esp. Conservation and Ecological Management, Celia Ruiz de Oña holds a PdD degree in Ecology and Sustainable Development by El Colegio de La Frontera Sur, in Chiapas, México, where she has worked for the past 8 years in several conservation and resource management projects, mainly in La Selva Lacandona. Celia Ruiz de Oña is a full time researcher for the Multidisciplinary Research Centre of Chiapas and the South Border of Mexico, CIMSUR, a centre of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In here, she conducts interdisciplinary research on topics related to mitigation and adaptation policies, environmental governance and territorial policies, amongst others.
