Mr. Cesar Casanova joined the general contracting firm Fort Myer Construction Corporation in August 2011. In this role, he oversees a number of federally funded and commercial civil engineering projects within the Washington Metropolitan area. These projects include both structural and environmental construction: Trolley Bridge Rehabilitation for the National Park Service, Wetlands Construction of Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria Virginia, and the rehabilitation of MD-355 in Bethesda, MD.
Mr. Casanova began his career at Freyssinet Inc., an international engineering firm, which specializes in technical structural repairs and post-tensioning structural systems. Within his role as a project engineer, he specialized in overseeing all field and project management on a number of projects both domestic and international. His projects included: Valero Benicia Reactor Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation of steam tunnels for the Architect of the Capitol, Engineering inspection of the Arthur Ravenal Memorial Bridge over Cooper River in Charleston, South Carolina and the Autoposta del Coral in the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Casanova received a Master of Civil Engineering from The Catholic University of America, and is a current Doctor of Philosophy student from The George Washington University. His research interests are focused on applying options theory from financial engineering to structural engineering design.
