Dr. Catherine Amoroso Leslie has a B.A. from Denison University and received a Masters degree from Colorado State University, where she worked in the Historic Costume and Textiles Collection and learned first-hand about the importance of objects in telling the story of history. After earning her PhD in Textiles and Clothing from The Ohio State University, she joined the faculty of the Kent State University Fashion School where she teaches Fashion Fundamentals, History of Costume, and Historic Textiles along with serving as Graduate Studies Coordinator for the Master of Fashion (MFash) program. Dr. Leslie has written articles and books on subjects in fashion history, needlearts, and merchandising. Her current work explores the practice, teaching, and business of fashion and sewing.
