...MoreCalvin Carr has thirty years of successful marketing communications experience in high tech trade publishing. He has successfully managed sales, marketing, and operations teams. He is an accomplished builder and leader of motivated, results-oriented teams that have increased sales, enhanced profits and promoted rapid business growth. Professor Carr recently completed his MS degree with honors in Journalism and Mass Communications at San Jose State University and also an Online Teaching Certification at UCSC Extension. He received his BA from St. Lawrence University. He has taught at California State University, East Bay in the Communications Department and the Marketing/Entrepreneurship Department within the College of Business and Economics. Also, he has taught in the Department of Communication Studies at CSU-Stanislaus and in the business school at UCSC Extension in both the classroom and online platforms. Professor Carr has lived in Kenya, Italy, and Thailand and thrives in diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural environments. As a life-long learner, he is passionate about teaching and learning every day from his students. His teaching philosophy encourages the love of challenges, enjoying the effort, fostering curiosity, and being intrigued by mistakes.
