  Brigitte Anderson earned her academic degrees in Germany and the United States, and has served as English professor at the University of Pikeville for the past two decades. She has chaired UPIKE’s Humanities Division for 15 years and served on the Kentucky Humanities Council’s Board of Directors. She frequently volunteers for Council programs and organizes an annual Humanities Festival on her campus. Deeply concerned with the vulnerability of Humanities programs in schools and colleges in underserved eastern Kentucky, she has become a spokesperson for the Humanities in the region. Less
