Bjorn Nordfjord received his Ph.D. in Film Studies from the University of Iowa in 2005. He is currently Associate Professor and Director of Film Studies at the University of Iceland, where he teaches courses on film theory, film history, world cinema, film adaptation and documentary filmmaking. He recently edited a volume on world cinema in Iceland, and his Icelandic translation of Rudolf Arnheim’s “Film as Art” has just been published. In English he has written a monograph on “Nói the Albino” (University of Washington Press) in addition to numerous articles and book chapters on Icelandic cinema and other topics, including the transnational postmodern musical (University of Edinburgh Press).
