Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. My teaching experience in BSW and MSW Programs has emphasized advanced direct social work practice with children, youth, and families in both urban and rural areas and generalist social work practice all with a strong commitment on preparing students for working with diverse populations. My educational and professional experiences are well grounded in the field of social work. I have earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree, a Master of Social Work degree, and a Philosophy of Doctorate degree in Social Work Planning, Administration, and Social Science. My research and scholarship focuses on African American women’s issues, particularly health disparities, people of color, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, self-esteem issues, social work global issues, and social work ethics.
