Azza O.A. Abdelmoneium joined the Doha International Family Institute in 2013. Azza received her Bachelor degree in Management in 1994 from Ahfad University in Sudan. She worked with international organizations from 1994-1997 which encouraged her to develop her career and specialize in development studies. From 1997-1998 Azza attended a Master course at the Institute of Social Studies in the Hague- the Netherlands. She graduated with a Master of Arts in development studies in public policy and administration. In 1999 she worked with international organizations and as a lecturer in private universities in Sudan.
In 2001 Azza went to the Netherlands and followed several postgraduate courses. In 2003 she initiated her PhD study at the Institute of Gender Studies of Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. She was awarded her PhD degree in 2008 in cultural anthropology with a thesis “Non-Governmental organizations and the rights of displaced children in Sudan”. She has published scientific articles on the issue of children’s rights. She worked from 2009 at the University of Amsterdam and as a consultant with several UN agencies. Her areas of research interest include gender, children and rights, family, parenting, elderly care, intergenerational relations, developmental policies and community development projects of NGOs
