I think its great that google has created a tool to help students and parents stay on top of their child's school schedules. We are discovering there are many methods parents can use to stay engaged with their kids education. I often wonder if sometimes parents may experience technology overload and maybe there are too many links and websites to track assignments and due dates. Is technology helping parents out when all they need to do is put in some effort? In my work environment many of our customers give us suggestions on how to better use SharePoint sites to track information. My struggle is that many of our subordinate units have not mastered the basics and now they want to use other methods. Are we becoming too dependent on tablets and automated reminders when a paper and pencil will suffice? I am not bashing technology I am just curious of other thoughts.
