The video helped me define some things about my own education experience. I recall being in classrooms where I sat up front and did not really understand what was being presented. Multiple conversations would erupt and I would still be lost. I was the young lady looking around hoping the answer or understanding would present itself from another source because I was not getting it from the professor. In on line classes, or technology based environments topics are presented and although I may not understand what is be presented I can wait and review other classmate’s posts and gain an understanding. Is that a form of cheating? I don’t think so because the goal is to learn. I don’t recall there being a clause saying I had to gain an understanding from what the instructor presented. The instructor sets the stage and the students have an opportunity to fill the gaps. I now understand that learning does not always come from the instructor but the end result is that I did gain an understanding, which is the goal. I heard a person once say “Learning is occurring.” Once I have learned the basics of the subject I can contribute to discussions which further the learning process. So learning is occurring. I have benefitted from different methods of teaching just like many others. Using technology, I can do research and review others comments to gain an understanding and not be the kid in class looking bewildered about the presentation.
