...MoreArlene Archer is the co-ordinator of the Writing Centre at the Centre for Higher Education Development, University of Cape Town, South Africa. She teaches in Film and Media studies, as well as in an Engineering Foundation programme. She is interested in academic development in the tertiary environment – how diverse students from a range of language, class, cultural and gender identities access disciplinary knowledge. Her recent research focuses on the possibilities multimodal pedagogies may offer for enabling student access to Higher Education.
