Aralyn Beaumont is undergoing her Bachelor degree in Religious Studies at Occidental College. Her research interests incorporate social studies of food into a religious context. Future research topics include fasting, ritual, and celebration in Turkey in addition to the culinary and spiritual functions of the land on which wine is produced in France. Both research projects will either be conducted or presented in their respective countries through study abroad programs. Last year Beaumont was the Editor-in-Chief the Occidental Weekly, and now spends her time on the staff as a Senior Editor and Food Critic, reviewing new restaurants in Los Angeles. Beaumont aims to apply for graduate programs in Religious Studies following her graduation from Occidental College.
