I am a feminist gender specialist / advisor to national and international humanitarian and development sectors, focused on advancing gender equality and the prevention and response to violence against women. I have worked mainly in Africa and Asia as an advisor as well as a trainer and lecturer at academic institutions. I presented the first ever study on intimate femicide at the Beijing Conference in 1995 and have published numerous articles and contributed to a book on gender, peace and security (The Aftermath: Women in Post Conflict Transformation).
