Dr Anna Powell is a Senior Lecturer in Art and Design Theory in the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Huddersfield. She received her History of Art PhD from the University of Leeds in 2012 and is a Fellow of the FHEA. Her previous roles have included teaching modules on contemporary art, the museum and the English country house at the University of Leeds, and supporting the development of education resources for Leeds Art Gallery. She has also managed projects for a variety of heritage, arts and STEM organisations. Her current research explores the relationships between artwork, curatorial practice and audience, in relation to both interpretation and public engagement, and, broadly, addresses the ways in which people are able to encounter and engage with art. Amongst other research roles, I currently co-manage the development of impact, dissemination and engagement activities for the None in Three Global Research Centre (www.noneinthree.org).
