Anna Vacalopoulou works as a scientific associate at the Department of Electronic Lexicography and Language Resources in the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP / R.C. "Athena"). She holds a Master's Degree in Lexicography (1997) and has been working in lexicographic projects ever since. Her interests include mainly the areas of electronic and computational lexicography, dictionaries for children, educational technology materials with emphasis on e-learning, as well as the development and management of electronic text corpora. As an ILSP researcher, she has been involved in a variety of national and European projects. She has written and co-written various monolingual and bilingual dictionaries of both general and specialised language as well as other types of reference works (e.g. dictionaries for children, dictionaries for tourists, dictionaries for immigrants, terminological dictionaries and glossaries, encyclopaedias).
