I studied at the Humboldt University in Berlin and spent one year in Thailand analyzing the way the construction of the Skytrain has encouraged segregation.
I am currently pursuing my Sociology and Demography degree at the City University of New York and mainly work quantitatively. I am currently working on various research topics in urban sociology and migration that mainly share a profound interest in neighborhood and city level effects on individual social cohesion, solidarity and civic engagement. In particular, I study contextual determinants of electoral participation (and non-participation) at the Urban Research Institute at CUNY, the effects of shifting demographic patterns on age-specific segregation patterns and the implications of diversity dynamics for inter-ethnic friendships.
