He started his doctoral study in January 2010 which is funded by the Ministry of Defence, Arab Republic of Egypt. He was an architect and taught at the Military College in Cairo before undertaking the doctoral study at the University of Sheffield. His PhD thesis project investigates how indoor environmental simulation of a building can be grounded in outdoor environmental simulation of an urban neighbourhood.
