Amy is an academic within the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of South Australia. Her research interests include mental health, creative and participatory approaches to research as well as physical and social environmental factors which influence wellbeing. Primarily a qualitative researcher, Amy’s work focuses on uncovering the human experience through approaches such as participatory action research and narrative inquiry, to better understand topics as diverse as loss and grief, engagement in mental health across cultures, community gardening and art in the context of recovery within mental health. Outside of work, Amy is also an arts enthusiast, particularly in music as a songwriter and performer, having played at several international arts festivals including WOMADelaide and the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
