I am interested in reading and writing instruction, and have taught in grades 1-2 for 10 years. I defended my doctor’s dissertation in 2011. The study was accomplished by interviews with 8 Swedish teachers in grades 1-2 and a questionnaire to 300 teachers in grades 1-3. The purpose was to examine teachers’ opportunities and obstacles for skillful reading and writing instruction. The dissertation was written in Swedish, with an English summary. Three articles have been accomplished upon this data material. I am proceeding with studies on teachers’ perspectives on children’s oral and written language development.
