A description of an innovative practice
Innovative teaching is necessary for the present and future of education to help students to reach their full potential. Providing new technologies to the students by teachers help the students to gain new insights or open up new channels of intellectual stimulation. These also enhance student’s creative thinking power.
I have observed teachers using Innovative e-tools e.g Kahoot, See-Saw, Plicker and many other assessment tools to assess students learning. One of the teachers used Plicker as an assessment tool. She delivered the whole lesson and as a wrap-up activity she used Plicker and asked some questions to check their understanding. Students used their QR codes and answered the questions. This really helped me to evaluate teacher's teaching as I was there as an observer.
So innovative teaching is a necessity for all teachers in order to meet the educational needs of the new generations. However, teachers’ competency for innovative teaching is a key factor influencing innovative teaching performance.
