Career Development: Transition from academia to entrepreneurship

The company I work for, On Deck, is launching a track within the On Deck Founder Fellowship for doctoral candidates (ABD), early-stage researchers, and post-docs, who want to explore startup ideas and build off their research & expertise to start a company.

The program is designed to help identify the bridge between your work and commercial opportunities. The program is free and is exploratory for 12 months.

My colleague Becky is scheduling some introductory calls and I wanted to share it here as I could be a great opportunity for any of you that might be thinking about starting your own company. Please let me know if you're interested and reach out to me at valeria@beondeck.com or Becky at becky@beondeck.com.

The program includes core modules & opportunities such as:

  1. Identify the bridge between your work and commercial opportunities through custom programming, and learn frameworks to structure and direct your ideation process.
  2. Access to On Deck's Sectors network across health, edtech, climate tech, longevity biotech, and more.
  3. Learn how startups work and how to raise capital.
  4. Expand your network outside your own discipline, and find the right co-founder and team.
