Career Dev: Nominate yourself or a peer to serve as an inaugural co-editor of the Journal of Learning Design and Leadership
The journal is in need of two co-editors. We are striving for at least one alumni and one current doctoral student. The anticipated term will be for two years.
This role will ultimately own the processes associated with the journal, including delegating tasks to other committee members, approving all publications, and more. But there will be associate editors and other committee members to help spread the workload across several people.
If you'd like to be considered to serve as a co-editor of our new journal, please provide a brief statement of interest by December 10th by commenting on this post.
Note that co-editors need to have completed at least 16 credits in the doctoral program, two of which need to have been LDL courses.

There are no right or wrong answers, this just helps us get to know each nominee a little better. Other journal committee members will vote on these nominations during our December 13th meeting.
Note that committee member positions are open to any LDL graduate students or alumni, including our Masters students.

Reason for wanting to serve as a co-editor (one to three sentences): Learning Design and leadership truly is about learning design and leadership. The best way to expand the practice of LDL is to discuss and research LDL. As a graduate and a practitioner, I believe I have the experience the help cultivate discussion around LDL. I have campus and international connections that can help solicit works to the journal.
Summary of how you feel you can contribute (one to three sentences): I am able to see what is intended and help translate words from academic-speak into everyday use. This expands the accessibility and reach of our works. I am also a great communicator and relationship builder. An editor needs to be able to connect the journal committee with authors to build a community of practice for LDL Scholarship.
Hello everyone, my name is Aurore Bargat. I started the LDL program in Fall 2020 and next year I will try to start the Exam Sequence. I wish to serve as a co-editor in order to promote a wider reflection around learning design, especially around new learning technologies. I am looking forward to promoting a new journal highlighting innovative ideas from my fellow classmates. As an organized and detailed-oriented person, I already published several articles in various academic journals, and I would love to share my experience acquired in this area for this new project.

Reason for wanting to serve as a co-editor (one to three sentences): I truly loved my experience in this program and would love to continue to be a part of the community. I am happy to help work on the journal and helping develop processes to successfully meet deadlines and publish great work!
Summary of how you feel you can contribute (one to three sentences): I graduated this past May and gained a lot of skills while writing my dissertation. I have a certification on project management and currently have the time to dedicate to this wonderful project. I would love to be considered as a co-editor.
