Changes and challenges in education in Costa Rica after the Covid-19 pandemic Module 1: Practice Peer-graded Assignmen

Module 1: Practice Peer-graded Assignmen

I wish to briefly explore, from my experience as a student and future educator, the recent changes in the nature of education. In this case, the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic forced a qualitative leap in the use of educational platforms and forums within the country's educational systems thanks to digitalization. From Costa Rica, changes have been proposed in the study programs in which five disciplinary axes intervene: problem resolution, active contextualization, positive attitudes and beliefs towards mathematics, use of technologies and use of history as a didactic element. However, there is a long way to go in terms of equity in access to connection and technological devices since I live in a country with high rates of income inequality, this represents a challenge for educators in sectors such as public education.
