New Learning MOOC’s Updates

Teacher role in the age of technology

In the age of technology, teachers' roles have changed in many aspects. Learners now can easily access online courses in which they can study by themselves without teacher's direct instructions. So, what makes teachers different from those diverse courses?

Learners' need in education in this century are also different. They do not only need knowlege in the textbooks but also other skills to apply in their real life. It is stated that teachers are expected to be "a constructor, a facilitator, a coach and a creator of learning environment" (Chang Zu, 2010)

Moreover, teachers in the new learning time are also expected to upgrade themselves with different skills to exploit the benefits of technologies in teaching. The teachers should be able to uintegrate the use of Technologies, administrative skills, organizational and cooperating skills, computer skills, an so on (Chang Zu)

Therefore, as the teacher, we should be aware of the changes in our roles in teaching and learning, so that we can be able to improve and upgrades ourselves every day.
