New Learning MOOC’s Updates

Essential Peer Reviewed Update #7 E-Learning (Real case)

E-learning has been being used in Higher Educational Institutions of my country for the last ten years. Some educational programs are provided  online  for students. Everything seemed to be ok until we faced Covid-19. That was a real chance to evaluate a true opportunities of E-learning and its impact on the quality of educational process. The first problem which I faced as a teacher was that It was hard enough to grab students' attention during online lectures, as the students experienced another space of education (architectonic approach), some of them were at their places, others in cafe etc. I started to put more efforts to maintain the lectures more engaged and student-centered, giving them more opportunities to share their ideas and to give feedback during the lectures. I realised that transformative model of Pedagogy is a good option to be implemented in E-learning.

Another problem which I faced was an assessment of the students. It was hard enough for me to control cheating, as in the Digital era there are so many technology opportunities. I decided to redisign self-control questions so the students wouldn't have any chance to find out the answers in Internet or other sources. So the question words such as what, how, which, whu were replaced by the tasks evaluate, analyze, give examples, explain, etc.

So this was a good experience to enhance the quality of E-Learning.
