Using Transformative Pedagogy When Teaching Online

The proponent of the abovementioned study is Steven A. Meyers wherein he encourages the faculty of teachers to use transformative pedagogy in teaching online classes. This is to help the learners critically examine their assumptions and engage in social issues and actions. As we all know teaching in online classes is challenging because we couldn't guarantee if our students are really listening to the teacher. We are not also sure if they are present during the online class or just only his account is present and not the person itself. According to the study, "transformative pedagogy not only focuses on developing students' understanding of alternative perspectives and experiences on an individual basis, but it also expands their awareness of how societal forces impact people." Through transformative pedagogy, learners learn to be socially aware and critical thinkers. They will also engage in online classes when they find the class and the subject interesting.
