Education is fullfilling when it is able to serve its true purpose. Education transforms and set us free from ignorance, poverty, oppresion and war. It creates a better future full of hope for young old and alike.Transformative education is needed in this challenging times where peace is at stake and poverty is widespread . There is a great divide between the rich and poor in terms of accesssing quality education thus the United Nations movement in transforming education through UN Summit pledges of Action is timely and relevant. It is high time that our political leaders pay attention to upgrading the quality of education by addressing the pressing needs of our teachers and learners. Likewise, there is also a need to realign priorities and government should invest more in education of children and in buying books than in buying guns, ammunitions, and explosives. Our educational goals and system should be aligned with that of the United Nations sustainable developemnt goals which aim to transform our world. They are a call to action to end poverty and inequality, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity. This is what makes education interesting. It is challenging yet fulfilling.
