New Learning MOOC’s Updates
Teaching in the new era after the Covid pandemic
The improvement in my new training comes from the Covid pandemic in 2021. In the past pandemic, I had to teach online full time, online teaching faced many difficulties with subjects about watercolor painting, drawing. pencil on paper. I can't directly make illustrations on webcam while teaching because at night, there is not enough light, webcam on laptop does not have wide viewing angle. In that case, I have to use a smart phone to record a clip before the class, use video editing applications to re-edit the clip to make it more attractive and inspiring, then I upload it to my personal Youtube channel. Share links for students to see, and answer questions and instructions directly through the screen of the Zoom application.
Since then, I have always used video clips as an additional source of knowledge in my teaching. I currently use Youtube to make sharing easier. I find it effective, and learners love having it
That’s right!
I enjoy reading about your experience with teaching after COVID. It seems like educators are still trying to figure out the effects of online learning for their students, when it became a necessity. I have taught math online, and I like your idea of creating the videos so that the students can watch them before the lesson. I think this is called blended learning, in which the teacher spends less time in front of the classroom teaching new material. The video then becomes the introduction to the lesson, freeing the teacher to facilitate further learning.
