New Learning MOOC’s Updates

Authentic pedagogy, but more still needed...

Authentic pedagogy has changed the way learners interact with information. This is reflected in our tech-driven society. Information is accessible to anyone anywhere and instead of turning to an authority figure or institution to obtain knowledge, it is expected that the student will learn it on his/her own. In our workplaces, we have collaborative teams because working together enhances the creativity and understanding of the individuals. However, in recent times, with the rise in calls for social justice, authentic pedagogy has failed to recognize and include a diversity of learners within institutions. Authentic pedagogy was a huge step forward but a new model of education needs to emerge to adjust for the inequality still systemic within education practices.
