The implementation of K-12 in the Philippines is one of the latest reforms in Education. It aims to provide Filipinos an excellent primary education that will prepare every learner for tertiary Education. The law mandated that kindergarten is compulsory and the beginning of the child's formal education, and also there is additional two years in Secondary Education. The Education For All (EFA) initiative supports Filipinos in achieving the UNESCO mission in realizing "functional literacy."
