Maureen Webb is a Canadian labor lawyer and human rights activist. She is author of the recently published book, Coding Democracy: How Hackers Are Disrupting Power, Surveillance and Authoritarianism (Cambridge: The MIT Press, 2020) and of Illusions of Security: Global Surveillance and Democracy in the Post-9/11 World (San Francisco: City Lights, 2007) and has taught national security law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia.
