The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Museums: How AI Can Be Used to Benefit Museums

Abstract

At the forefront of almost every topic in the past year has been the surgency of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence has been used for programs like ChatGPT, Microsoft Designer, and other programs to create practically anything that the mind can think of. Aside from simple text and image creation, the uses of artificial intelligence are far more versatile. So, this leads to the question: what can artificial intelligence do to benefit museums and create an overall better experience? A few examples would include the following: AI guided tours, virtual reality exhibits, historical image and voice recreation, etc. These examples only scratch the surface of the near infinite practical uses of artificial intelligence in museums that will increase the overall experience that a museum can offer in the digital age. The presentation will include various artificial intelligence examples to show what AI is, and how it could improve the viewing experience of museums.
